Are $200+ designer sunglasses really better than my $25 SolarComfort® s or my $20 Solar Shield®s?

The answer, in most cases, is NO! There are at least 8 basic things that make a pair of sunglasses ‘good sunglasses’.

Number one, is UV protection. A good pair of sunglasses should provide 100% UV protection from both UVA and UVB rays. UV rays have been linked to many eye diseases like cataracts, macular degeneration, eye cancer and more, so it is very important that your sunglasses offer 100% UV protection.

Number 2, good sunglasses should eliminate glare, which is the reflected light from surfaces like sand, snow, car hoods, mirrors, etc. Sunglasses with lenses that are polarized eliminate blinding glare. The only reason to avoid polarized sunglasses is if you constantly need to look at digital screens.

Number 3, good sunglasses have a wrap-around design like the SolarComfort®  sport wrap or have side windows and top and bottom shields like Solar Shield® classic fits over sunglasses. The extra coverage prevents peripheral light from reaching your eyes.

Number 4, is durability. Good sunglasses are made of quality and long-lasting materials following strict manufacturing quality control guidelines. All SolarComfort® , Solar Shield® and Haven®  sunglass frames are made of high grade Nylon and all full frame Solar Shield® and Haven®  clipons are made with Monel metal. These materials are made to last. Our lenses are scratch-resistant and, in addition, all Haven® lenses repel water, oil and smudges, keeping your sunglasses cleaner, longer.

Number 5 is satisfaction guaranty. All our products have a satisfaction guaranty.  Your satisfaction is our number one priority. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days of original purchase date for an exchange or refund.

Number 6 is Price. How many times have you left your sunglasses at a restaurant, the beach or a park bench?  If you lose or damage your sunglasses, you’ll feel the pain in your wallet. Not the case with SolarComfort® sunglasses or Solar Shield® fits over sunglasses and clipons. These products are priced right. If you lose or break them, it won’t be the end of the world to replace them.

Number 7 – Convenience. Try purchasing a pair of designer prescription sunglasses at a retailer, drug store or grocery store. You won’t find them there. They are only sold at exclusive stores that are not easy to find, and more often than not, not in your town. SolarComfort®  and Solar Shield® sunglasses, fits overs and clipons are sold virtually everywhere – Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, Kmart, Safeway, and many convenient, easy-to-find locations near you.

Number 8 –Versatility. When you purchase a pair of expensive prescription sunglasses, you are stuck with that style, color and look. That crazy animal print with the gold medallion you loved last year can get old fast. And at $200 a pop, you are not likely to buy another pair of sunglasses. With SolarComfort®  and Shield Shield fits overs and clipons you can change your look as often as you want. You can have a wild and crazy pair, a traditional pair and everything in between.

If you wear prescription or reading glasses, your prescription or diopter are likely to change at some point. Luckily, you can pop your Solar Shield® fits over sunglasses or clipons right over the new prescription glasses. And your prescription sunglasses? You’ll have to shell out another $200 for a new pair and the old pair will be no good to you.
